LECTURE

No lecture on Week 7.

PRACTICAL

This week, I started the shooting of the objects I wanted to use in my final work, which is the soda can and batteries.

Before shooting, I looked on Pinterest for some references on how soda commercials are usually shot to get some quick ideas.

Then, I set up my shooting space on my desk with 2 sheets of white A2 paper as the background and covered my table lamp with a sheet of baking paper for diffusion, as mentioned in the lectures.

I tried out 2 different layouts based on my references to see which one would look better when replaced as batteries. I treated it like an actual product photoshoot in a way where I tried to keep the logo as visible as possible.

Since the batteries were so small, I stacked some thick books on top of each other to create a platform and added an extra 2 sheets of A3 paper over my existing setup.

I picked an image from each layout to send to Mr. Fitri for feedback, and was told to proceed with Layout #2 due to the better lighting.

REFLECTION

This week was, yet again, quite busy, but I found the process of shooting the pictures quite fun. The trick of using baking paper as a lighting diffuser made a noticeable difference when shooting. I struggled with shooting both the cans and batteries at the same angle, but I feel like my final selected shots are close enough to work with.
