Project 4
Project 4
PRACTICAL
I started by answering the questions given in the slides.
BIOGRAPHY:
Intro
Please introduce yourself, where you come from, your interests, traits, etc.
My name is Cheyenne, I was born in Malaysia on October 2006. I like music and designing posters, which I occasionally like to combine for fun. I would generally describe myself as an introverted, and slightly awkward person.

Paragraph 1
What is your passion?
I am passionate in design, which is why I enrolled in this course. I discovered this interest during the lockdown, when I was bored at home with nothing to do besides keeping up with my favourite bands and artists, which eventually led to the beginning of my design journey.

Paragraph 2
What motivates you to achieve your dream?
I’m motivated by the desire to grow past my insecurities. I occasionally struggle with imposter syndrome, especially when being surrounded by other creatives in class, but I’m slowly learning to appreciate my work and trust my progress.

Summary
How would you like to visualize your dream into an artwork?
I plan to visualise my artwork using repeated eyes to symbolise pressure, self-awareness, and the feeling of constantly being judged, along with the puppet-like element to show how these pressures can influence me against my control.

STATEMENT:
Intro
What style would you like to apply into your artwork?
I would like to apply a messy torn-up scrapbook inspired style, with a pop of bright colour against a minimally coloured layout.

Paragraph 1
What is the concept/story behind your idea?
The concept reflects the tension between self-doubt and identity. The repeated eyes represent outside expectations and my own perfectionism, while the hand controlling the brain represents how imposter syndrome can take over my thoughts.

Paragraph 2
What is the message that you want people to understand?
That creativity can still thrive even when you feel uncertain, and it’s okay to grow at your own pace while learning to value your work.
Summary
What is your motto/quote?
“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
After that was done, I looked around for some references pictures and ended up with these 3 posters.
Figure 1.1 Reference Moodboard (Sources: Reference 1, Reference 2, Reference 3), Week 11 (3/12/2025)
Then, I began sketching my ideas out.
Figure 1.2 First Sketch, Week 11 (5/12/2025)
This was my first sketch but I ended up scrapping it because I couldn't find a way to incorporate the puppet element into it. Besides that, I also thought it was just quite uninteresting.
Figure 1.3 Second Sketch, Week 11 (5/12/2025)
I came up with another idea I am far happier with and decided to show it to Mr. Fitri in the next class.
REFLECTION
This week was pretty simple since it was only the ideation stage. However, it was quite challenging to answer some of the questions as it really needed me to understand myself and what I want for myself, but it helped me reflect more deeply on my own thoughts and feelings. All in all, this stage helped clarify the direction and message I want to communicate in my final poster and video.
