PRACTICAL
Figure 1.1 Sketch, Week 12 (10/12/2025)
I showed Mr. Fitri my sketch from the previous week, in which he said was fine to proceed with.
Figure 1.2 Pictures to Be Used in the Poster, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I spent a few hours gathering images for my poster, and ended up picking the ones shown above.
Figure 1.3 Pictures of Myself, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I also took a few pictures of my head using my webcam, since I realised taking the same pictures with my phone distorts my head pretty weirdly. The quality isn't the best, but I've already decided to cover it up using a grainy threshold overlay.
Once all the images were collected, I started editing the poster.

I then imported the paper edges and masked them using the quick selection tool and select & mask, which I then placed on the top and bottom edges of the background.
Figure 1.6 Process #3, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
After that, I brought in the picture of my head and masked it out the same way.
Figure 1.8 Process #5, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I added a grain filter as well as threshold, then changed the blending mode to multiply to remove the whites.
Figure 1.9 Process #6, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I duplicated the layer and cropped the top of my head using the polygonal lasso tool and adjusted the positioning.
Figure 1.10 Process #7, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
Then, I repeated the process with the bottom layer, this time with the bottom half.
Figure 1.11 Process #8, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I decided to add a red hue over the black background because I thought the black and white of the head blended into the black background. So, I used the brush tool to draw on a red colour, then lowered the opacity and changed the blending mode to hard light.
Figure 1.12 Process #9, Week 12 (11/12/2025)
I used the brush tool to draw a rough white outline against a black layer (also drawn with brush tool) and applied the spatter effect from the filter gallery. Then to remove the black background, I changed the blending mode to multiply.
REFLECTION
I started making the poster this week, which I found quite enjoyable as I was able to apply my ideas more practically. I had to look up a few tutorials to achieve some effects, like the spatter effect, but the techniques taught in the previous tutorials came in pretty handy and helped speed up my workflow. Overall, this process allowed me to better understand the tools and how to combine different techniques effectively in one composition.
